A visual alerting device is an appliance that will flash a light or shake a bed to alert a deaf individual to a sound that they cannot hear, such as a TTY or doorbell ring, a baby's cry, a smoke or fire alarm, or any sound they need to hear. Our alerting products are all completely portable, which means there is no hardwiring involved, you just plug them into an outlet and they are operational. The illustration below shows how a typical house can be equipped with a variety of signalers and receivers. Each of the signalers can be used by itself (except the Baby Cry Signaler which need a remote receiver) to alert you to a single sound, such as a telephone, or they can be combined together to alert you to all of the sounds around you home. Our economy signalers are designed to flash a light in just one room. These are useful in studio apartments or dorm rooms. Other models allow you to expand your system by adding remote receivers to flash lights in other rooms of your home. ![]() We offer a series of signalers that monitor your doorbell, telephone, baby, alarm clock, etc. When any of these sounds are detected, the signaler flashes a light plugged into it to alert you. At the same time, the signaler sends a signal through your home's electrical system. We have a series of remote receivers that can be plugged into any room of your home. When the remote receivers receive a signal from any of the signalers, they flash a light with the same flashing pattern as the original signaler. This way you will always know what sound was detected by your signalers. These products are designed so that anyone can install them in minutes. Most of our products simply plug in and are ready to use with no controls to adjust. They work by remote through your home's electrical system so you do not have to run wires from room to room. |
